  • Sometimes you feel like you’re doing everything right and having a great brew day, only to find out that you missed your gravity by…a lot. This should have been like 1.062. Oh well, guess this will be a “session” hazy IPA, which means I can have two of them instead of one? I’m a glass half-full sort of guy! 😅🍻🍻

  • The best thing about brewing in the fall (other than that brewing outside in the beautiful weather) is how much faster I can cool my wort down! Fall is definitely my favorite month to brew outside! What’s yours? 🍂🍁🍻🍻

    • Fall for sure! But summer is a close second for me. It does get a little too hot sometimes but I love the summer vibe when brewing!

  • What are your favorite hops to brew with? For late additions, I LOVE brewing with Mosaic and Citra! This smells amazing!!

  • Kegged the Roasted Rye Pale Ale! This was one of my laziest brews in a long time. I changed the recipe like three times as I brewed it, I just direct pitched the yeast, I fermented it in my old Big Mouth Bubbler instead of a conical, and now I’m not even doing a closed transfer.   • And we’re done! Five gallons of what was originally going to be a Cascade/Marris Otter SMaSH but ended up being some kind of Roasted Rye pale ale is ready to be kegged. The sample tasted pretty solid even warm and uncarbonated, so I think this will be a decent beer!

  • I LOVE the Anvil Foundry. I’m doing my fourth brew on it this weekend and this thing is just awesome. One of my favorite things about brewing on it is the ability to easily do a recirculating mash with the pump kit.   • Where’s the coolest brewery you’ve ever been in the entire world? I think mine would have to be the Cerveceria Del Valle Sagrado in the Sacred Valley, Peru. Amazing beer, amazing people, and an amazing location.   • Watermelon wine update! It fermented like a champ and is completely fermented, so I decided to rack it to a secondary while I was kegging my fall spice cider.   • Did a lot of brewing-related activities this weekend! Kegged ten gallons of a hard lemonade that came out great, and racked ten gallons of my Cascade SMaSH to secondary. Productive day!

  • Stopped by Adriot Theory in Northern Virginia last weekend and had some awesome hazy IPAs!
