New Grain Mill
Posted by Arthur Reed on January 3, 2020 at 8:49 pmI just got a new Crop Duster grain mill for Christmas. Any advice before milling my first batch of grain?

You going to use a drill or hand crank it? I highly recommend using a drill – hand cranking would probably suck a lot. I got a cheap Harbor Freight corded drill to run mine. Just make sure you run the drill really slow.
Remove the plastic from the hopper if you havent yet. Grind outside your brew and fermentation area. The dust contains contaminants that can spoil your beer. Replace hand crank with cordless drill at low rpm.
Agree to all the above, slow rpm on the drill works best, many people adjust the gap to credit card sized, I went a bit tighter on mine with better efficiency but it depends on a lot of factors.
