Ok, so I know how bad of an idea this might be, but I can’t help but asking. Have any of you brewed a hard coffee? I keep hearing about the Pabst Hard Coffee that came out recently and, despite my best efforts, I’m kind of intrigued. I know you can just throw some whiskey in coffee, but was curious if anyone did a “homebrewed” version. Thanks!

John, I have to tell you, that sounds awful. If you’re determined to make it, I would wager that Pabst is brewing an extremely flavor neutral malt-based beer with no hops in it, and then adding flavoring and sweetener. That’s the easiest way to be able to sell it canned in the US. You could do the same approach or you could make a (God forgive me) hard seltzer and then add strong coffee, or espresso, or cold brewed coffee, and some sugar to sweeten it.

Hahaha, honestly you’re probably right. I just have a weird drive to try something completely different and weird right now. The seltzer is not a bad idea – that would be a really cheap way to give it a shot and I wouldn’t be heartbroken if I thought it was awful and I wanted to just throw it away. Maybe I’ll give it a shot.

If you’re still eager to try, I’d recommend you to make it on cold brew beans.
Lavazza would be my personal choice, but if you dont like it, you can always pick what’s up yo you https://www.coffee-statistics.com/best-coffee-beans-for-cold-brew/
