Just took a recent trip to Asheville North Carolina to go to a few breweries. While there I went to New belgium, wicked weed, Sierra Nevada, hi-wire, gingers revenge(ginger beer brewery), highland brewering, and 2 more smaller ones that I don’t know the names of. But over all it was an outstanding trip and seems like a really good town for breweries. There are a ton more breweries in Ashville that I might have to go back to see. If you want any more details about any of the breweries I listed just let me know and I will discuss a little more on them.

Asheville is an AMAZING brewing town! I have been to a few of those breweries as well, and they’re all fantastic. Did you do the tour at Sierra Nevada? It was a really amazing tour of the production areas and shows a lot of history. Plus, you get to sample all of their beers, which is a huge plus!

If you’re back in the area sometime, check out Pigsah Brewing Company – they’re in Black Mountain right near Asheville – they have some seriously awesome beers, do a good tour, and have good live music. I definitely recommend it!

We did a couple of days R&R in Asheville after a backpacking trip in the Smokies last year, and I definitely agree with everyone that Asheville is a great town for breweries. On that trip, we did Sierra Nevada (3rd time there!) and also New Belgium Brewery and Highland Brewing. All great tours and tastings, New Belgium even had a 2-story slide we went down during the brewery tour!
