70qt Mash Tun Build
I’m in the process of building a new mash tun for doing 10-gallon batches with a higher grain bill. I am loosely following the design that is outlined here: https://thebeerspy.com/2014/11/06/homebrew-diy-how-to-convert-a-cooler-to-a-40lbs-mash-tun/
I bought this stainless steel weldless bulkhead/valve, but the bulkhead doesn’t seem to be deep enough to work with the cooler. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IFKSIWO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Has anyone found a better bulkhead? I went to Lowe’s and Home Depot and they don’t have much of a selection of stainless steel fittings, but they do have plenty of brass. Would it be ok to use a brass piece?

The valves on my mash tun and hot liquor tank are both brass.
http://Www.bargainfittings.com has cooler bulkhead kits.
